My name is Christopher Chase Kidd, and I'm the owner of Kidd's ProWash right here in Dacula, Georgia. I've lived in this area my entire life. My wife and I are raising our boys here - two so far, with baby number three on the way (another boy). This community is home, and that's why I take so much pride in the work we do for our neighbors all across Gwinnett County.
How It All Started
I grew up working outside in the construction world through my dad's business. Working with my hands and being out in the field always felt natural to me. After that, I landed a software engineering job at General Motors. It was a great opportunity and I learned a lot from it. But sitting at a desk all day in an office? That wasn't my thing. I missed being outdoors. I missed building something of my own and working directly with people.
That's what led me to start Kidd's ProWash. I wanted to build something I could be proud of. I've always enjoyed helping people, and providing a service that helps homeowners and business owners take care of their property just made sense to me. There's something really rewarding about seeing the immediate results of your work and knowing you made someone's day a little easier.
From software engineering at General Motors to running a pressure washing company - it wasn't a typical career path. But getting to work outdoors, build something of my own, and help my neighbors? That's the best decision I ever made.
The Early Days
When I first started, I didn't have all the fancy equipment I have now. I was riding around with a pressure washer in the back of my truck, knocking on doors right here in Dacula. I'd offer free driveway cleanings just to get my name out there and earn some Google reviews. Just a guy with a truck and a pressure washer trying to build something from scratch.
A while later, I got a call from the HOA in that same neighborhood. They wanted me to clean all of their sidewalks, pool deck, and playgrounds. That moment really showed me that doing good work and treating people right comes back around. That's been the foundation of how we run this business ever since.
